Protect yourself from increasingly sophisticated malicious senders. Receive a warning about a suspicious sender before their email enters your mailbox and verify the authenticity of their account to prevent a potential scam or virus.
How does Edison classify malicious senders?
- First, Edison Mail scans multiple databases of senders that have been identified as spam and/or fraudulent.
- Next, we run an identity spoofing scan on the message.
- Last, me run a scan on the message header.
We also show websites, facebook, Linkedin, and Twitter when available. This makes identifying the sender easier. You can see whether a sender has been flagged as suspicious atop the message itself, or in the verify sender screen.
I was contacted by a sender who wasn't flagged as suspicious, can I flag them myself?
There is no manual process for adding email addresses to the list of suspicious accounts. However, you can block these users if you choose.
I was contacted by a sender who was flagged as suspicious, but I know them.
Tap "Always Trust this Contact", and future messages will not be flagged.
