Protect yourself from increasingly sophisticated malicious senders. Receive a warning about a suspicious sender as their email enters your mailbox and verify the authenticity of their account to prevent a potential scam or virus.
How does Edison classify malicious senders?
- First, Edison Mail scans the message header.
- Next, we inspect the validity of the email address.
- Then, we scan 70+ databases of senders that have been identified as spam and/or fraudulent to see if the email address is found in any of them.
- Last, we see if the sender is attempting to spoof the identity of one of your frequent contacts.
We also show websites, Facebook and Twitter when available. This makes identifying the sender easier. You can see whether a sender has been flagged as suspicious atop the message itself, or in the verify sender screen.
I was contacted by a sender who wasn't flagged as suspicious, can I flag them myself?
There is no manual process for adding email addresses to the list of suspicious accounts. However, you can block these users if you choose.
I was contacted by a sender who was flagged as suspicious, but I know them.
Tap Always Trust this Contact and future messages will not be flagged.
